investigation of relative fatally shot by deputy constable Sunday
after routine traffic stop
Houston,
The League of United Latin
American Citizens (LULAC) is preparing to began an investigation of a
Precinct 1 Deputy Constable, Brian Kirsch, who fatally shot a man Sunday
during a routine traffic stop.
Precinct 1 Deputy Constable Brian Kirsch stopped Mr.
Garza, Sunday June 27, in the 11130 block of Airline after he noticed
the car had an expired inspection sticker.
Contradictory
witness media reports and calls to
the LULAC District Office has heightened serious concerns in the
Hispanic community and LULAC officials.
This is the second death of a Hispanic motorist by a
deputy constable in almost two years. On July 2002, Melvin Alejandro
Romero, 20, died shortly after being shot in the abdomen by Precinct 1
Deputy Constable, Matthew W. McCord.
LULAC is prepared to meet with the family to discuss the
death of their loved one.
